How You Can Help

Sinai House is supported primarily by charitable contributions. It costs approximately $150,000 annually to run Sinai House and we need your financial support.

Here are ways you can support us:

Recognize a Simcha or Memorialize a Loved One with a Donation - Sinai House will send a personalized letter and will provide you with a letter for your records acknowledging the donation. You can send us an e-mail with the details of the donation to sinaihouse@gmail.com and then make the donation online. You may also send a check to Sinai Assisted Housing Foundation, 3100 Military Road, NW, Washington, D.C. 20015.

Host and Homes and Hearts Party - Each year, Temple Sinai members sponsor parties and other festive events for their friends as a fundraiser for Sinai House. Please consider hosting dinner, cocktails, brunch, dessert and coffee, or movie party. Please e-mail us to receive a kit for holding a Homes and Hearts party which includes invitations, sign-in sheets, and ideas for creative events.

Support the Homeless Walk - Every October over 600 religious school students, parents, and other congregants participate in the annual Fannie Mae homeless walk to raise awareness of and funds for Sinai House. We need volunteers to help organize the walk. Please email us at sinaihouse@gmail.com if you are interested in helping plan this year's walk.

Bar and Bat Mitzvah Projects - As part of the preparation for a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, each student must perform community service. Many students choose to support Sinai House. Projects include making welcome baskets for new Sinai House residents, organizing car washes and bake sales and donating the proceeds to Sinai House. If you would like to find out how you can organize a Bar or Bat Mitzvah project, please send an e-mail to sinaihouse@gmail.com.

Clean-up Day - Each Spring, Temple Sinai's youth spend a few hours grooming the grounds of Sinai House. Students typically trim bushes, clean the yard, porches and stairwells, and plant flowers. If you are interested in gathering a group of friends and helping out, please send an e-mail to sinaihouse@gmail.com.

Combined Federal Campaign - Federal employees can donate to Sinai House through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). Our CFC number is 73039.
United Way - Sinai House is a member of the United Way of the National Capital Area. Our United Way NCA designation number is 9854.
